Haunted House Happenings...

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving.  It's weird that there was virtually no paranormal activity in my house around Halloween but in the last few days...

The other night, I was sitting in the living room and heard my partner take a step into the dining room from the kitchen.  I looked over but no one was there.  He was fast asleep in the family room in the basement.  The next night, he was sitting at the dining room table working on an electronic project.  One of the tools he was using is a simple electric current detector.  It's basically a piece of plastic with two metal prongs sticking out of the bottom and a small green bulb in the middle.  Anyway, he wasn't using it.  The thing just sat there, not connected to anything.  Then the green bulb started lighting up on its own.

Needless to say, he was surprised.  After it kept happening for a while, he said out loud that he wanted it to stop.  And it did.  My first thought was static electricity because it's so dry.  But he checked and static doesn't light it up.  It would be like setting a regular 60-watt bulb on a table and trying to explain why it's lighting up with no external stimulus.  Yeah.  Weird.

Was the presence in my house just playing around?  I'm inclined to believe so.  Who knows...maybe it was looking for some turkey and stuffing.

  1. Hello, I first want to say that I enjoy your postings, but I do have a question-Are you continuing a ceremony or rite to expel this ghost? Put yourself into this person's shoe, yes, they are still people, would you want to linger decade after decade stuck on this plane of existence? I believe you are taking a wrong route when contacting these paranormal groups in SD and abroad because they don't help but get their "rocks" off on obtaining evidence on their fancy gadgets without solving the problem and when satisfied, they leave.
By the way, love the movie reviews.

  2. Thanks for the comment. And I love writing the reviews. While I respect your opinion, I disagree about the paranormal group I had come in, and if you met them, I think you might change your mind regarding their motives. I've encouraged the spirit to move on quite a few times, even using a psychic/medium along with holy water, a sage smudge, and prayers but it's stayed. And if it wants to stay, I'm not comfortable with bringing in a priest to force it out.

  3. Hey Nate,
First of all, you don't need a priest to rid a entity, simple words are said with conviction in "taking back your house." If I lived in your "bricks," I would never take a shower,LOL.

Maybe it could be residual too.

Keep up the good blog, enjoy it very much...I'm a new fan.

  4. Thanks for the comment. It's funny you mention taking a shower. I've never written about it, but almost every time I shower, I think I hear someone moving around in the adjoining bedroom. Sometimes I think I hear music. I've dismissed all this, though, because running water can really mess with the brain's ability to interpret sounds. But who knows? As long as it doesn't climb into the shower with me, I'm good.
