Haunted House Update

I know.  It's been a while since I've talked about my house.  Not for any lack of activity.  Let me rephrase that...not for lack of paranormal activity.  It's due to my lack of activity.  I've gotten lazy.  So what's been happening?

Now that the window in my son's old room has been removed for refinishing, it obviously no longer opens on its own.  However, in the weeks following the removal, we would hear all manner of thumps and noises coming from in there.  No logical source.  I honestly wish I wasn't so used to these kind of noises now. 

Then there are the footsteps.  These do tend to freak me out.  The other night I was alone in the living room watching TV and heard the telltale creaking sound on the hardwood floor.  One creak I usually write off as house settling.  Two within a few seconds of each other?  Well, that's a whole other kettle of freaky. 

Lately, I'll be sitting in my chair in the living room late at night, no one else on this floor of the house, and see shadows in the corner of my vision.  I turn to look and find nothing.  It'll happen two or three times until I get irritated enough to stop looking.  It could be cataracts, I suppose, but doubt it.

My partner mentioned something the other night that took me a bit off guard.  He casually said he felt like he was being watched.  I haven't had that creepy sensation in months.  (If I'm honest, I don't miss it.) 

On another night, I was sitting in my chair late and dozed off a little.  Suddenly, someone yelled in my right ear.  I jolted awake and looked around.  My partner was sitting in another chair and hadn't heard a thing.  I don't know what was yelled, but I do know it was one word.  Wish I could have understood what it was. 

And then there's my bedroom.  This is strange in a different way.  Every night, about five minutes after I get into bed, I'd hear loud raps coming from the corner of the room.  And I mean every night.  A week or so ago, the rapping just stopped dead.  Why?  I have no clue.  I'm not complaining, mind you.  Just wish I understood it. 

I'm sure I'm forgetting a thing or two and will certainly write a post if I remember.  I'll try and do better to keep this blog updated.  I mean, it's the reason I started it in the first place.

One more:  the list of movies I've already reviewed, also on the left, is acting weird.  It may look like a mish-mash, but if you hover over the specific title you're interested in, it works just fine.  I cannot for the life of me get the titles into a single, vertical tile.  Almost tossed my laptop across the room that day...
